Eraser - Arashi Shibori Fine Art Print
"Here in the darkness immutable tranquility holds sway."
-Jun'ichirō Tanizaki
Eraser, created in 2019, invites the viewer into a state of contemplation. Complexities make themselves known to those who are willing to sit with darkness. It creates a void, both imposing and discreet all at once.
Eraser was shortlisted for the international Kogei award and was on show in the Toyama Museum of Art and Design, Japan 2021.

This is a fine-art giclee print of my original shibori art work.
It was created using a contemporary adaptation of a Japanese tradition called arashi shibori. Cloth is first bound to a pole before being compressed into pleats and dyed. It is a very rare art form and only one traditional Japanese practitioner remains alive today.
I am a contemporary textiles artist in Bristol, UK. Re-imagineing textiles from the Far East and making it relevant to my time and my place. We need textiles for a socially just and environmentally sustainable future.
